Marc Lawrence Marc Lawrence (b. 13/7/1970 Newcastle, NSW, Australia)

I spent most of my working life working in IT, from Help Desk through to IT Project Management. Having at the last come up against the immovable object that is corporate politics, I have at this stage effectively retired, disillusioned but building a bridge and getting over it.

This "semi retirement" has moved me from the inner-eastern suburbs of Sydney, where I'd spent all of my adult life, 1000km north to Noosa. I've now got hard feet, a tan, and very little urge to wear underpants.

So, photography...well, if you want to know the gear, it's going to be Canon DSLR, Oly digi P&S, and whatever else the EXIF tells you. If the EXIF won't talk, it'll probably be an Oly OM1 SLR, a Yashica 35GSN or Voigtlander R3A rangefinder, or maybe even a Canon SLR (50E), though there could be others. If it's not mentioned, and you really want to know, just ask ('montsnmags' is my GMail address).

I mostly like "normal" prime lens photography, and finding interest in the boring details. This perhaps means that many of my photos of odd shapes and dead stuff and beach flotsam and and other things that have interested me over the years will be found boring by others. That's okay; if you don't like them, there's going to be some dog photos for dog lovers, or portraits for the people-person, or something else here. Just don't expect the standard to improve with those. I'm enthusiastic, but that doesn't translate to skill.

As for me, well, I'm made up of parts atheist, skeptic, cynic, stoic, introvert, humanist and hedonist, but predominantly Fool. I love my dogs, Massimo's Icecream, reading, and of course and most of all, the Peter in Parknmeter.

Cheers, and welcome. Marc
